After graduating from the Naval Academy (Industrial Engineering, Deck), he served as the 3rd Captain in the ocean. He combined his maritime experience with his ITU (Industrial Engineering) bachelor education.

He continued his education at Istanbul Technical University on Maritime Transportation Engineering Department for the Master's Degree. His bachelor and master theses are on maritime sector. In his academic field studies that he maintained as parallel to his education and business life, he published scientific articles in international journals with many renowned lecturers.

He completed many project-based tasks on Blockchain, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), AI (Artificial Intelligence), Project Management, Process development and Optimization areas and he still continues to develop projects that creates added value to sector.

Umut Arıcan prefers to examine the subjects he studied and worked on in more detail. In this way, he aims to obtain more qualified information that creates added value and to produce surplus value through in-depth research. As a vision, Umut Arıcan, adopts to combine his qualifications with the future needs of the sector. With this point of view, he plans to use his knowhow to bring new solutions to professional life. He shares his knowhow gained in this process with interested readers and industry experts by preparing international publications in the academic field.
